Thug gets six years for knifing deaf man

From: Glasgow Evening Times, UK - Jul 5, 2006

A KNIFE thug who launched a sickening attack on a deaf mute man and left him for dead has been jailed for six years.

The High Court in Glasgow heard Peter Bradley brutally assaulted his victim, Gordon Sellar, after a dispute about whose turn it was to play pool.

Lady Dorrian also ordered 45-year-old Peter Bradley to be monitored for three years after his release on licence.

Bradley punched and kicked his victim before stabbing him repeatedly.

Mr Sellar was taken to hospital and Bradley was later arrested.

Bradley, of Cardross Street, Dennistoun, Glasgow, admitted assaulting Mr Sellar to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement, permanent impairment and to the danger of his life in the Fat Cats pub, Craigpark, Glasgow, on February 10.

Sentencing Bradley, who has previous convictions for assault and possession of an offensive weapon, Lady Dorrian said she was imposing the two-part sentence for the protection of the public.
