From: HLO/WRAD - May 23, 2005

What will you do next Saturday June 4th?
Come to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Day at Universal Studios Hollywood!!!!!!! 10am to 6pm... PLUS DHH Gathering at night from 6pm to 2am.....

The WRAD, Inc. organization is very happy to host the Deaf and Hard of Hearing event at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday June 4th 2005 from 10am until 6pm as Universal Studios Hollywood must be highly honored and respected for its efforts to provide equal access to disabled people including deaf and hard of hearing people- in fact, Universal Studios Hollywood has done much more than any other Amusement Park in Southern California to welcome and respect individuals with disabilities, in FULL accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, especially in the area of utilizing technology ( such as captioning of the shows and some of the attractions including the Studio Tram ride) to ensure equal access and maximal independent enjoyment of their facilities.

After the day at Universal Studios Hollywood inside the park, the deaf and hard of hearing community will be able to meet and gather at the Saddle Ranch Chophouse at City Walk on the grounds of Universal Studios Hollywood for an enjoyable evening from 6pm until 2am. Come and enjoy riding the mechanical bulls for a small fee and have your photo taken there. You can have dinner there if you like or in one of many restaurants at City Walk.

During the day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we will have Deaf and Hard of Hearing Gathering outside of the Terminator Studio inside the park along with tables promoting information about deafness in the deaf and hard of hearing community to the general public. We also welcome companies and businesses to contact WRAD if they wish to promote information at the tables at no cost to them. Deadline is Friday May 27th.

This year the tram rides will offer something new- you can request captioning on television of the tram during the tour. In addition to captioning on TV, we will offer the deaf and hard of hearing community photo scripts of the tour for people to read and follow the tour before they begin the tour itself. The scripts will be available for pick up on a table in front of the Studio Tram Tour area. Sounds exciting? You bet!!!!

Come to Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday June 4th and have a good time with us !!!
