Deaflympics: Silver lining for our man Anthony

From: Belfast Telegraph, UK - Jan 13, 2005

Crawfordsburn man Anthony Sinclair was celebrating today after winning a silver medal at the Deaflympic Games in Melbourne.

Anthony, 20, who is profoundly deaf, reached the men's singles tennis final against the number one seed, German Ronald-Oliver Krieg last night.

In the end, he suffered a straight sets defeat, 1-6, 1-6, 3-6 but, considering the standard and quality of the global event, that certainly won't detract from the achievement.

Indeed, it's Anthony's second medal of the 20th Deaflympic Games.

Earlier in the week, partnered by Darren O'Donnell, he bagged a bronze in the men's doubles.
