Monthly advice service for deaf

AN ADVICE service for the deaf and hard of hearing is to be held on the last Friday of every month in Stevenage.

The drop-in sessions have been organised by Hertfordshire County Council and will be held at the social services offices in Southgate.

A fluent signer will be on hand to offer help filling in forms, benefits advice and understanding letters.

Information will also be available about equipment including flashing doorbells and loop systems, BSL interpreters, lip speakers and speech to text, and general advice.

The next session will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm on December 31. No appointments are necessary.
