Deaf Douglasville Georgia Boy Found

From: Team Amber Alert (public service) - Jul 28, 2004

Yellow crime tape surrounds a Douglasville home where a missing neighborhood boy was found Wednesday morning.

Located on Britt Road, the Rolling Hills subdivision home's pool is also cordoned off by crime scene tape, according to 11Alive's Elaine Reyes. The Fulton County medical examiner recently arrived at the scene. Six-year-old Ayan Wilder's condition has not been confirmed.

Police reported finding him about a block away from his home on Cindy Drive, near Pope Road. The child's grandmother and great aunt have arrived at the Britt Road home, while the boy's mother was reportedly still at her home.

Police have not confirmed who found the boy or when and where he was discovered at the home.

The 6-year-old apparently went missing for several hours after his second attempt to runaway from home on Tuesday. A relative told Reyes that Wilder may have been upset about having to be restrained during a dentist appointment that day.

He first tried to runaway that afternoon, but was back home after a few hours. Later though, about 9 p.m., police say Wilder tried to runaway again and hadn't been seen until being found at the home on Britt Road.

Douglasville police searched for the boy earlier Tuesday, having brought in Coweta County search dogs to help them track him down. Fayetteville authorities also aided the search.
