Missing deaf woman seen in woods

From: BBC News, UK - May 4, 2004

Police searching for a deaf woman missing in Bristol for four days say she has been spotted in woodland.

Nicola Fogden, 27, a patient at Southmead Hospital, was last seen in the garden of her parents' house in Tickenham Road on Friday.

Officers think she may have been in Leigh Woods off the A369 at about 1230 BST on Monday.

They are concerned for her safety as she needs regular medication. Nicola is profoundly deaf but can read lips.

She is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, with blonde shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.

When last seen she was wearing a black/grey fleece-style jogging top, light fawn coloured flared trousers and blue and white training shoes.

Police have asked people to check sheds and outhouses and also asked the owners of bed and breakfast businesses to keep a lookout for Nicola.
