DSPFACTORY RECOGNIZED FOR EXPORT SUCCESS AND INNOVATION

WATERLOO, ON -- March 25, 2004 -- Dspfactory Ltd., a leading provider of reprogrammable digital signal processing (DSP) technology for digital hearing aids, wireless headsets and other portable audio devices, was today named the Southwest regional winner for Innovation at the Ontario Global Traders Awards (OGTA). The OGTA celebrate export success in the province and are presented annually by Ontario Exports Inc., the export development agency of the Government of Ontario. Dspfactory was presented the award at a ceremony in Kitchener, Ontario.

Dspfactory products enable clear communication and help people hear better. Chips based on its SignaKlara platform technology are used by device manufacturers in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the United States, and Canada, including one-third of the world's largest manufacturers of hearing aids and headsets.

"Exports generate the majority of our revenue and our success in winning customers world-wide has enabled Dspfactory to create new jobs and take advantage of the wealth of talent in this province," said Dspfactory president and CEO Robert Tong, who accepted the award. "Our SignaKlara based products are an example of made-in-Ontario innovations that compete successfully in global markets, and we're honoured to receive this recognition."

Dspfactory provides the smallest, most flexible, most power-efficient programmable DSP solution on the market today. Its highly-flexible audio systems are specifically designed for portable devices where exceptional sound clarity, ultra-low power consumption, and miniaturization are critical design requirements.

With Dspfactory technology, device manufacturers can quickly bring the leading-edge performance of digital signal processing to a wide range of audio and speech products.

As the regional winner, Dspfactory will now represent Southwest Ontario at the provincial OGTA ceremony, to be held May 11 in Toronto.

Nominations for the Southwest regional OGTA were evaluated by judging panels comprised of leaders from business, education, and economic development groups. To be eligible, companies must be based in Ontario and have been in business for at least three years, with annual sales under $100 million and at least 15 per cent of total sales coming from exports.

Dspfactory was nominated in the innovation category, which recognizes excellence in the application of technology in the development of new products that have led to growth in exports and job creation.
