Matrix Revolutions subtitled (15)

Subtitles help of course, but chances are you will still have no idea what
they are going on about!

A subtitled version of this film is available to cinemas, in the 'open
subtitled' format. This means that every cinema in the UK can screen it -
the subtitles are 'etched' onto the actual print. A limited number of prints
are produced and 'toured' around cinemas.

This film is also available in the 'digital subtitle' format. This means
that 26 UK cinemas can screen the film from release date, whenever they
like, as many times as they like, because the digital subtitles are
projected over a 'normal' print of the film. Locations of the 26 'digital'
equipped cinemas on the website http://www.yourlocalcinema.com

Is your local cinema on the list? If not, ask them to screen this film!

PLEASE READ THIS!
Subtitles @ Your Local Cinema receive subtitled listings information
directly from cinema head offices, but we can take NO responsibility for
postponed or cancelled shows. If cinemas inform us of changes, we will tell
you via the website. If they don't inform us, we can't inform you.

Many cinemas schedules are "SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION".
Sometimes a subtitled film is not delivered to the cinema on time and cannot
be screened.

The only way to be 100% sure is to ALWAYS check with the ACTUAL cinema
before you plan a visit. But DOUBLE check, preferably with a manager. NEVER
turn up without getting confirmation that a show is definitely on.

Return of the King:
In response to the numerous enquiries regarding the third and final part of
the Lord of the Rings trilogy: The first two films were available in the
'digital format only', so expect this one to be too. The latest news from
the people responsible is that it's "more than highly likely that the third
part of the trilogy will also be subtitled".

Latest News:

It's official - the UK Film Council have allocated £350,000 in grants to
equip approximately 10% of all cinemas in England with digital subtitling
and audio description equipment, to meet the increasing demand in accessible
cinema-going for audiences.

Cinemas now have an opportunity to become fully accessible to people with
sensory impairments for very little financial outlay. Your local cinema can
apply and it is hoped that eventually around 100 cinemas will be equipped
with subtitle equipment - watch this space for news.

In the meantime please ask your local cinema to consider becoming
accessible.

Many people have been enquiring as to what exactly is going on with UK
subtitled cinema:

"Why are some available films never screened?"
"Why can't my local cinema screen the latest subtitled releases?"

Let us explain...

although subtitles are the norm on TV, DVD and video, silent movies are
still the norm at the cinema, but without the old captions that helped to
explain the plot. Deaf people are generally excluded from the popular social
activity of cinemagoing...
