NORTHERN Territory police fear for the safety of a 26-year-old New Zealand woman missing since yesterday.

Caroline Grime, who is deaf, was last seen at 9am CDT yesterday at Berrimah, in Darwin's east.

"Police ... are concerned for her safety as it is uncharacteristic for her to leave her five-month-old daughter for any length of time," a police spokeswoman said.

Ms Grime, wearing long dark brown velvet pants and a purple or blue T-shirt, was reported missing from the Overlander Caravan Park last night.

She was last seen walking across Berrimah Road at Berrimah to the Shell Truck City yesterday morning, police said.

She was carrying a dual New Zealand/British passport and keycard.
