BRATTLEBORO -- Austine School for the Deaf made an early goal hold up for 40 minutes but after a tough-luck score by Christian Heritage, the flood gates opened.

Heritage scored six second-half goals and blew past the Arrows, 6-1 on Monday.

"We were facing an aggressive front five up front," Arrow coach Peter Rausch said. "They were swarming like bees."

Austine (3-7) held its own in the first half, playing good defense and getting some good saves from goalie Wayne Troumbley. But things started to fall apart for the Arrows in the second half after Troumbley tried to clear a ball and it was blocked back into the goal.

"After that goal the flood gate opened and they blew right over us," Rausch said.

Christian Heritage scored five more goals in the next 25 minutes to seal the win.

Steven Limoges, Jennilyn Rosa and Chris Branagan all had good games for Austine.

The Arrows will be back in action today when they play at Grace Christian at 4 p.m.
