LEBANON — A deaf man remains hospitalized two days after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross North Broadway near the Warren County Fairgrounds.

The condition of Kenneth Martz, 31, has improved from critical to fair condition this morning, April 1, according to officials at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Martz was trying to cross the street around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, when he was struck by a woman driving a Buick Park Avenue.

Police said the driver of the car that struck Martz was Doris Clatty of Lebanon. Police at the scene said Martz darted out in front of Clatty and that they didn’t expect to charge her in the accident. Police said they believe Martz did not see the car before he attempted to cross the street.

Martz was transported by medical helicopter to the hospital where he was a patient in the intensive care unit in critical condition a day after the accident.
