From: Deaf Media - Sep 10, 2006

The Bay Area's own Shoshannah Stern stars in the new CBC series "Jericho."

Tune in to the premiere: Wednesday, September 20, CBS-Channel 5.

A graduate of CSD-Fremont, CA, Shoshannah Stern comes from a large Deaf family with deep roots in the Bay Area. She attended Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, where she continued to pursue her love of the theater. Along with numerous guest roles on television to her credit, she has a recurring feature role on "Weeds," a comedy series on Showtime.

The new dramatic series "Jericho" stars Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, Pamela Reed, Shoshannah Stern, and others.

Synopsis: The series tells the story of a prodigal son who returns home to Jericho, Kansas, just as a series of mysterious nuclear explosions hit the United States. Life is turned upside down, as the people in the small town struggle to survive and try to learn just what has happened to the outside world.

Susan Young, staff writer for "Inside Bay Area," says, "The taut writing and engaging cast makes ("Jericho") a winner.

And the "New York Times" writes: "'Jericho,' on CBS, is the clearest example of prime time's tense mood."
