One suspected mugger was easily identified, Wilmington police said today.

The victim already had seen his face in “Drug Mugs,” the city’s weekly posting of arrested suspects’ faces, said Wilmington Police Department spokesman Master Sgt. Steven T. Elliott.

The victim was a deaf man, hit in the face and robbed of cash and jewelry on Sunday, Elliott said. His identification led to warrants and – two days later – one of about 2,000 arrests from the site's ranks since it was started nearly two years ago.

“Drug Mugs” is the most popular feature on the city’s Web site, with close to 400,000 viewings since it was started.

The suspected mugger, George K. Brown, 24, whose last known address was the 800 block of N. Clayton Street, is being held in Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington for lack of $5,000 secured bail, Elliott said.
