Maricopa County Elections Department Sets Precedence!

First in Nation to Provide Instant Sign Translation

Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell is seen here with the Deaf Link Sign translator at this morning’s press conference.

This morning we launched our instant Sign Language Translation Service with a press conference at our MCTEC facility located in central Phoenix.

From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday this service is available to assist the deaf public:

· Register to vote,
· Request an early ballot to be mailed to them,
· Answer questions on the electoral process,
· Clarify the new ID requirements for voting at the polls, to name a just few applications.

During the Early Voting Period voters will also have access during our extended business hours.
