From: Rochester Democrat and Chronicle - Rochester,NY,USA - May 1, 2006
A weekend getaway for seventh-, eighth- or ninth-grade minority students who are deaf or hard of hearing is planned this summer at Rochester Institute of Technology. The "Steps to Success" camp, scheduled for Aug. 4-6, is intended to give African-American, Latino and Native American students hands-on experiences to explore career options.
They'll use computers, work with robots and do science experiments in labs and stay overnight in student dorms.
The cost, which includes meals, is $50.
Call (585) 475-6723 (voice/TTY) or send an e-mail to StepToSuccess@ntid.rit.edu. The deadline to apply is May 31.
