Deaf mute sportsman selected for national male pageant, Mister Singapore 2006. Is history being made?
(PRWEB) April 11, 2006 -- Perhaps for the first time in international male pageant history, a deaf and mute sportsman has been admitted to the second round of Mister Singapore 2006 contest, the most prestigious annual male pageant in the country.
This decision by the judges during the audition phase surprised many people in the male pageant industry as it is unprecedented for a handicapped person to be selected for a beauty contest anywhere in the world at a national level. He used sign language with an interpreter to get past the question and answer segment during the audition.
Terence Thaddeus Lew, 27, who cannot hear nor speak but can read lips will create another history if he becomes the titleholder of Mister Singapore 2006. He will then represent Singapore at international male pageants vying for world titles.
A total of 24 finest and handsome young men from Singapore will be vying to be Mister Singapore this year. These hunks will be judged on their stage personality, fashion sense, facial characteristics, general knowledge, and how well they keep their bodies muscularly toned and in shape.
Since Terence is a triathlete and a mountain climber, he is expected to woo the audience with his athletic physique displaying his ripped his six pack abs when he struts the stage in the swimwear section. Not to be left behind, the other contestants are also working very hard because it is a top honor to be crowned as the country’s best hunk on top of the prestigious prizes, an avalanche of modeling contracts and a chance to represent Singapore on the world stage.
All the contestants have started training with "Burn Fat Build Muscles Fast" muscle sculpting system at http://www.sgfitness.com to get their bodies into shape for the grand finals.
The preliminary rounds will be in early May with a presentation show of the finalists to be held in DXO leading to the finals on 20th May 2006 at the Pavilion, Far East Square. Tickets to all the preliminaries, presentation show and the grand final are expected to be sold out just like in previous years.
The outdoor and indoor shoots for publicity materials, magazines and the press were completed last Sunday and you can see the pictures of the contestants at http://www.mistersingapore.org towards the later part of April.
Will the world’s pageant history be made? Find out on May 20th.
