Plans are being finalized for the 4th WRAD Halloween Costume Ball on Friday October 28th in Los Angeles with an exciting event to offer for the deaf and hard of hearing community and their friends

The Halloween Costume Ball will be from 8pm until 1am at the BEAUTIFUL Friendship Auditorium , 3201 Riverside Drive not far from Griffith Park in Los Angeles. It is also close to the Golden State Freeway #5 and the Los Feliz offramp. Both Bruce Gross and Gino Guidice are the co-chairpersons again for the 4th time .

Our sponsors are T-Mobile , SPRINT, and Councilman LaBonge of the 4th District of Los Angeles. T-Mobile will have a booth at the Ball and SPRINT invited Mr. Jerry Ferris, the TV celebrity ( The Bachelor's Episode) , to attend the Ball to be available to sign autographs. Jerry Ferris knows sign language as his parents are deaf.

We will have cash prizes for the best costumes being selected by the three judges . They are Bernard Bragg, Lilly Crisman and Maryruth Summers Katz.

The categories for prizes are the Funniest, The Scariest, The Most Fantasy, and ofcourse the Grand Prize.

Admission is $20 by mail or before October 25th. We accept few tickets at the door for $25 but it is recommended that you buy the tickets in advance and send a personal check or a money order, or cashier's check to WRAD, PO Box 3211 Quartz Hill, California 93586. We will accept personal checks until October 15. After October 15 we will only accept money order or cashier's check until October 25th. We also accept credit cards ( Visa or Mastercard) and you can order online at www.wrad.org.

We will have entertainment with dancing ( Our own deaf DJ with Joe Mc Roberts) as well as the costume contest at the Halloween Ball. Refreshments will be served at the Ball. Bob Hiltermann, the deaf Hollywood actor, will be the Master of Ceremonies again this year. He was widely applauded for his work as the MC last year and we are happy to have him again this year. He is very funny and is a professional entertainer. He is also the drummer of the retro rock and roll band Beethoven's Nightmare as he shares the fame of being a member of America's only all-deaf band . Additionally, he appeared in many television shows, movies, and on stages.

Hope to see you at the Halloween Costume Ball as it is going to be alot of fun. Come wearing your costumes but you are not required to wear one. This event is for people 18 years old and older, both deaf, hard of hearing or hearing.

Parking at the Friendship Auditorium is FREE. We have plenty of room to park your vehicle at the parking lot.
