NTID APPOINTS MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Sept. 15—Pamela L. Carmichael of Gates has been named director of Marketing Communications for the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. She previously was interim director and, prior to that, a marketing communications specialist at NTID.
Carmichael will direct the strategic planning and implementation of communications to prospective students, donors, employers, and the college's other key audiences through print and Web-based initiatives, including publications, direct mail, e-mail, Web site development, advertising, product dissemination, and exhibiting.
Carmichael, who has worked at RIT since 1998, has a master's degree in Communication and Media Technologies from RIT and a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from SUNY Brockport.
NTID is the first and largest technological college in the world for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. One of eight colleges of RIT, NTID offers educational programs and access and support services to its 1,100 students from around the world who study, live, and socialize with 14,400 hearing students on RIT's Rochester, N.Y., campus.
