Important info for the deaf and hard of hearing and their friends and loved ones

The Deafestival event at the Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California on Saturday September 24th, 2005 was a huge success with over 1,000 people. Thanks to Tony Cardenas, the Councilmember to host this event for the deaf and hard of hearing community as there were many vendors including ours as we presented information about WRAD and the upcoming Halloween Costume Ball on Friday night October 28 at the Friendship Auditorium in Los Angeles.

We are happy to announce that Rey Llarena, our 1st Vice President of the WRAD, Inc. has updated the WRAD website and hope you can visit it soon at www.wrad.org

You will find different major events of the deaf and hard of hearing community in the website including the Winter Games for the Deaf next year and others. You can also buy the Halloween Costume Ball tickets online at www.wrad.org for $20 each person or you can mail your order.

October is around the corner and it is going to be a very busy month for us as we are providing fun activities for you.

Here is a list of some activities that we are planning for October:

Friday October 7- Deaf and Hard of Hearing Gathering at Farmers Market near the Coffee Bean in Los Angeles near Fairfax and 3rd Street from 7pm until late. Meet at the Farmers Market Tower Clock. Many great international restaurants in the area.

Friday October 14- Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professionals Gathering at the famous Barney's Beanery Pub at 8447 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood from 5pm until 2am.
This event is open to everyone too. Come meet old and new friends.

Thursday October 20- Deaf and Hard of Hearing Pizza Night at Vince and Pasta on 20th Street East and Avenue S in Palmdale, CA. Meet friends there and to watch TV with captions.

Friday October 21- Deaf and Hard of Hearing Gathering at Porter Ranch Stuckbucks. 6pm until closing at night. A very popular gathering to meet old and new friends. It is on Ridandi between Tampa and Porter Ranch. WRAD will have a table there to sell Halloween tickets for $20 each person.

Friday October 28- WRAD Halloween Costume Ball at Friendship Auditorium, 3201 Riverside Drive, Los Angeles CA 90027. 8pm until 1am. $25 Admission at the door BUT you can buy tickets for $20 in advance by mail or credit credit at www.wrad.org. by October 25th.
