GLAD Day at the Races
Santa Anita Park

The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness is set to takeover the Infield of the Santa Anita Racetrack on Saturday, October 1st for the first ever GLAD Day at the Races from 12noon to 5pm…and we want you to be a part of this special event. The infield is in the middle of the horse racing turf in which the participants will watch the horse racing up close!

This benefit event will bring together numerous corporations and organizations that have demonstrated an extraordinary level of support to the deaf and hard of hearing community sustaining the mission of GLAD.

$50.00 for adult individual ticket to attend to GLAD Day at the Races*
$25.00 for child/teen ticket to attend to GLAD Day at the Races*

*The individual ticket includes an All-You-Can-Eat BBQ buffet that includes two non-alcohol beverages, full service cash bar, FREE Beer Stein Giveaway Microbrew Festival, family friendly picnic, TV Monitors for enhanced race viewing, FREE Horse betting 101 workshop presentation, convenient betting stations-$2 minimum bet, FREE parking, FREE Santa Anita Program and Event Program Book, Kentucky Derby Hat Contest and Children's Playground & Pony Rides Available- cost of $2 per ride. Sponsorship levels are also available

Funds raised will help GLAD expand services to meet the desperate needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing newborns, children, adolescents, adults and seniors throughout Southern California and beyond. GLAD has been improving the lives of the deaf and hard of hearing since its establishment as a volunteer organization in 1969. Founded on the philosophy…"of, by, for and with the deaf and hard of hearing", GLAD's Deaf Community Center encompasses a wide array of specialized health and human service programs for the deaf and hard of hearing community.

There are approximately 22 million Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals living within the United States. It is estimated that one in fifteen people live with a significant hearing loss. The Office of Deaf Access estimates 2.2 million deaf persons reside in California with well over one million living within the service area of GLAD.
