Jalandhar win in deaf football

Ludhiana, August 21: In the finals of 1st Punjab State Level Football Trials of the Deaf organised by Punjab Deaf and Dumb Sports Association (PDDSA), Mohali, Jalandhar team came out victorious after defeating Rest of Punjab team by 4-0.

The match was held at Guru Nanak Dev Stadium, here on Sunday. Harvinder of Jalandhar team scored as many as three goals.

Arvind scored one goal. Deepak Kalia was adjudged best goalkeeper. Paramjeet Singh Ranu, chairman, council of Homeopathic System of Medicine was the Chief Guest gave away prizes to the winners.

The Punjab team which will participate in the 14th All India Football Tournament for Deaf will be held at Rourkela, Orissa from September 1 to 6 have been announced.
