Indian deaf cricket team to strengthen peace process: Minister

LAHORE, April 4 (Kashar News): Provincial Minister for Special Education Monday said that the visit of Indian deaf cricket team to Pakistan would promote the on-going peace process between the two countries.

She was addressing a reception arranged at Directorate Special Education, Garden Town, Lahore for Pakistan and Indian Deaf Cricket Associations.

She said that friendly cricket matches between India and Pakistan would promote better relations between the two neighbouring countries.

Director Special Education Punjab, Muhammad Sadiq, President Deaf Cricket Association Ch. Zulfiqar Ahmed, Zaheer-ud-Din Babar Coach and Secretary Indian Deaf Cricket Association, Surinder Maddan also spoke on this occasion.

Surinder Maddan thanked the Punjab government for the hospitality shown to India’s deaf cricket team.

Qudisa Lodhi further said that Chief Minister Punjab, Ch. Pervaiz Elahi is taking keen interest in the promotion of sports and a substantial increase has been made in the budget of Special Education.

She said that vocational institutions are being set up for special persons in the province for making them active and respectable citizens of the society.
