Goshen: College offering seminar on sign language

GOSHEN -- Goshen College's ASL/Interpreter Training Program is sponsoring a seminar, part of the ongoing series of "Feed Your Eyes, Mind & Spirit."

M.J. Bienvenu, a native user of American Sign Language, will present a workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on "Deaf Culture Revisited: A Community View of Interpreters and the Deaf Community," in the College Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall. It will include topics of community and culture as related to deaf people.

This event is part of an ongoing series of seminars of Goshen College's four-year American Sign Language Interpreting Program. Pre-registration is $35, or $45 at the door. Call 535-7566 to pre-register (deaf callers please use relay). The event is wheelchair accessible and interpreters are provided.
