Senior Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals Gain Unique Affordable Housing

MEADOWS PLACE, Texas, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- TexSigns, Inc. (TSI) has announced that by the end of March, 2005, construction will be completed on a wing in the new Meadow Place Senior Village. This will fulfill a long sought after goal to achieve true accessibility in housing according to ADA guidelines. Located in Meadows Place, Texas, which is in the southwest corridor of the Greater Houston metropolitan area, the project is the only one of its kind.

The Chaparral Group, a developer of distinctive residencies, in conjunction with TexSign Inc. (TSI), a significant non-profit organization, have co-joined in combining the state of the art devices to aid communicative accessibility. This includes a service staff to directly serve the prospective Deaf and Hearing Impaired residents.

TSI was founded in 1999, to begin laying the groundwork for developing projects for the specific population of which its mission serves. There are 60,000 Deaf and Hearing Impaired senior age individuals in the Houston area alone. TSI seeks to create integrative approaches for the residents of its project that are designed to be without peer and allows the maximizing of independence and dignity.
