NTID OFFERS CAREER AWARENESS SUMMER PROGRAM FOR
HARD-OF-HEARING AND DEAF HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS

ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 10—The Explore Your Future (EYF) program is a six-day, summer career awareness program that gives hard-of-hearing and deaf high school juniors the opportunity to experience college life, and perform hands-on activities to learn about different career choices like engineering, art, business and computers. The program, held at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and its National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), helps students explore their options for the future and plan for life after high school while having fun throughout the week.

EYF offers two sessions: one from July 16–21 and the other from July 23–28. On the final day of each session, parents are encouraged to attend a workshop that provides them with ideas and tips to successfully prepare their child for college.

To apply online, go to www.rit.edu/NTID/EYFDD. To request an application by mail or for more information, contact the EYF coordinator at 585-475-6705 (voice/TTY) or by e-mail at EYFinfo@rit.edu. The application deadline is June 1.

NTID, one of eight colleges of RIT, offers educational programs and access and support services to 1,100 hard-of-hearing and deaf students who study, live and socialize with 14,400 hearing students on RIT's Rochester, N.Y., campus.
