Hollywood Films & Deaf Films: Past, Present, & Future on April 8, 2005

On Friday April 8, 2005, 8-10 p.m., the Deaf Studies Department at California State University Northridge and Sorenson VRS are proudly hosting an exciting event as part of the three-day program of the "Hollywood Films & Deaf Films."

That event will spotlight on the stellar contributions made by five talented Deaf individuals who have provided the important breakthrough in Hollywood: Bernard Bragg, Terrylene, Howie Seago, Gregg Brooks and Julianna Fjeld. In addition, the Friday evening program includes film critiques, interviews with several Deaf filmmakers, and short history presentation on the Deaf Community's battle against Hollywood over "Calendar Girl."

It will be held at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at California State University, Northridge. Parking is available at the G4 parking lot on Zelzah Avenue.

Tickets are now on sale at the PAC for $10. At door, tickets will sell at $15. For more information, contact the Ticket Office at 818-677-2488, or order through website.

This is a great opportunity for people in the film industry and Deaf community to come along and learn more about the five talented Deaf individuals who have made their imprint on Hollywood.
