CSD Appoints Interpreter Relations Coordinator

Sioux Falls, S.D. (March 16, 2005)—CSD, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Hall as director of interpreter relations. As part of an ongoing commitment to meet the increased demands for sign language interpreters across the country, Hall's role will be to represent best interests of CSD staff and contracted freelance interpreters and interface with CSD operations.

A certified interpreter himself, Hall brings to this position an extensive list of accomplishments, including serving in several board capacities with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). He has been an instrumental player on the NAD-RID National Council on Interpreting taskforce, working towards the development of a new national interpreter generalist standard.

Hall has presented to interpreters nationwide on mentoring, state credentialing in the United States and NAD-RID NCI progress, among a number of other diverse topics. He is also a highly sought after keynote speaker at RID regional conferences.

"Ben's extensive experience as both an interpreter and as a child of deaf parents will bring a balance to meeting the needs of the interpreting profession and consumers," said Benjamin J. Soukup, CSD chief executive officer. "We are really excited to have an individual of his reputation and caliber on our CSD team."

CSD (Communication Service for the Deaf, Inc.) is a private, nonprofit telecommunications and human services organization based in Sioux Falls, S.D.
