RIT/NTID Dance Company's DANCE FEST 2005 will take place Feb. 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb 13 at 2 p.m. at the Robert F. Panara Theatre on the RIT campus.

Admission is $5 students/seniors, $7 all others. Tickets may be reserved by sending email to ntidtix@rit.edu. The NTID Box Office is open 10-4 Monday, Wednesday and Friday and one hour before curtain on the day of a show. Additional info at our website, www.rit.edu/ntid/theatre.

This year's concert features two tap dance solos - one by a hearing student and one by a deaf student. A hip-hop/jazz dance group called Flux Fusion, performance and audience participation from the RIT Swing Dance club, the 3D dance group from the NTID Deaf Caribbean club, the NTID Drama Club, as well as a student work choreographed by Kelly Benjamin and a dance by RIT graduate Chris Coles.

The RIT / NTID Dance Company will present four new works by director./choreographer Thomas Warfield including a ballet homage to George Balanchine, a modern dance based on the game of chess, a male quartet inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's drawing the "Vitruvian man", and a modern jazz finale. The concert also consists of a lyrical solo by Thomas Warfield dedicated to the memory of the tsunami victims. Perhaps one of the most captivating dances in the show is the reconstruction of Lestor Horton's celebrated dance "The Beloved". This 1949 duet based on a true story clearly depicts the early style of modern dance and was presented in 1988 to critical acclaim at the International Dance Festival in Hong Kong, danced by Thomas Warfield.
