Parkin takes double gold at Deaflympics

Terence Parkin is fast becoming the golden boy for South Africa at the Deaflympics in Melbourne Australia. The 2000 Sydney Olympics silver medallist picked up two golds in the swimming pool today.

He won his first gold in the 400m freestyle before breaking the Deaflympic and World Deaf record in the 50m breastroke.

Parkin who won the only medals for South Africa so far, still has the opportunity to increase his medal tally as he competes in several more events over the next few days.
