From: Danville Advocate, KY - Jan 27, 2005

The Danville boys and Boyle County girls took first place Wednesday in a crosstown showdown that served as the final regular-season meet for both teams.

Danville's boys won only five of 11 events but outscored Boyle 94-75, while the Boyle girls won six events en route to a 99-63 victory at Kentucky School for the Deaf.

The Danville boys placed two swimmers or teams in the top three places in nine events, including all three relays. They won the 200-yard medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay and got individual wins from Eric Smiley (200 individual medley), Matthew DeLuca (500 freestyle) and Sebastian Pyrek (100 breaststroke).

Casey Clark won two events for Boyle, the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.

Mackenzie Monterio notched two wins for the Boyle girls, taking first place in the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley. Boyle also got a win from Sarah LeMay (50 freestyle) and won all three relays (200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle).

Kasey Toy won both the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle for Danville.

Both teams will compete in the 3rd Region meet Feb. 4-5 at Versailles.
