Car-Pedestrian Accident Involves Alcohol

Tonight police say alcohol is involved in a Rapid City car-pedestrian accident that sent a woman to the hospital.

Rapid City Police Sergeant Brad Booth says the woman crossing the street and the man driving the car both had been drinking.

Booth says the woman was crossing Fifth Street near the railroad tracks when she was hit by a man driving a silver car. He says the woman was thrown up onto the cars windshield and suffered serious injuries.

The man driving the car has a suspended license. The woman was crossing the street in a dark area and was not wearing light colored clothing. No other information is available at this time. Police are still investigating the accident.
