Learn sign language at library

A four-session course on sign language will be offered at the Mansfield Public Library on Thursdays, Sept. 30, October 7,14 and 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Lucille Vose, an experienced sign language instructor will be returning to present the course. No prior experience is necessary to join. Deaf and hearing people are welcome to learn or share how to express feelings and thoughts with one another in Signs. Participants will learn the American Manual Alphabet (finger-spelling) and basic signs. Sign language flash cards along with written instructions will be given to help position hands. Activities, games, songs in sign and much more will be used to enhance vocabulary retention and reading comprehension. Registration is limited, so call early to sign up at 508-261-7380.

Funded through the library's Library Services to People with Disabilities LSTA Grant, which is administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
