SALT LAKE CITY (June 1, 2004) - Sorenson Media announced today the winner of its "Sorenson Video Relay Service (VRS) Name Sign" contest. Ramon Robles of La Puente, California submitted the winning entry for the brand-new American Sign Language (ASL) sign that will now be interpreted as Sorenson VRS.

The new ASL sign for Sorenson VRS is posted on http://www.sorensonvrs.com/contest
Ramon received a new XBOX video game system and a Sony - 20" FD Trinitron WEGA Flat-Tube TV for his winning entry.

Video clips and drawings were either e-mailed or mailed to Sorenson Media. These were then forwarded to a qualified panel of deaf judges who selected the winning sign. In the case of contestants submitting the same winning name sign for Sorenson VRS, the earliest received or postmarked entry was considered the winning entry.
