Pennsylvania Labor & Industry Appoints Director of Office for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing

HARRISBURG, Pa., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Labor & Industry Secretary Stephen M. Schmerin today announced the appointment of Kenneth Puckett of Seattle as Director of the Office for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (ODHH).

"Ken brings to this position a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience in dealing with deaf and hard of hearing issues," Schmerin said. "His background will definitely benefit ODHH in its promotion of services and programs for people who are deaf and hard of hearing across the commonwealth."

Puckett will be responsible for providing a special focus on services to people who are deaf and hard of hearing by implementing and coordinating communication assistance, training, information and referral services and advocacy.

Puckett has almost 24 years' experience working with deaf and hard of hearing issues. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Executive Director for the Community Service Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Seattle.

Puckett received his bachelor's degree from Gallaudet University, Washington, and his master's of science from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York.
