MP speaks out for subtitling

Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake has come out in support for the rights of deaf and hard of hearing people to have increased access to television.

The MP has signed an early day motion challenging Ofcom's latest proposal for television subtitling.

Ofcom's current recommendations ignore the stated intentions of MPs and peers to ensure television is accessible to all through the widespread use of subtitling used by millions across the UK.
