An early voting location didn't Tuesday morning, because it was burglarized and trashed.

Burglars broke into the Corpus Christi Area Council for the Deaf sometime overnight.

They took office equipment and some video gear, before they vandalized the place, and even took time to eat pizza and drink sodas before they left.

The chief deputy with the county clerk's office, says the closet containing all the voting materials and equipment wasn't touched, but the rest of the building was pretty well trashed.

"I felt bad for them because they have a tough job ahead of them to just get it cleaned up, it was a mess," said Sandra Garcia.

The executive director of the council for the deaf says the crime cut through the heart of the deaf community.

"Heartbreaking," said Susan Tiller. "A lot of damage done, a lot of items missing, we're a non-profit organization, which doesn't make sense, there wasn't much in the building. Someone came in and put a lot of time into doing a lot of damage."

Police do not have any suspects at this time, but say the investigation is still going on.

The county clerk's office, says the building should be open for early voting Wednesday morning at 7 a.m.
