TWO COLLEGE NIGHTS FOR DEAF and HARD-OF-HEARING

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 18—New York City area's deaf and hard-of-hearing residents and their families are invited to attend a free, college information night sponsored by the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., March 9, at JP Morgan Chase offices at 270 Park Avenue in Manhattan or from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., March 10, at 1111 Westchester Ave., which is the Starwood Hotel & Resorts headquarters, in White Plains.

The evening will allow deaf and hard-of-hearing teens and their families to learn about different career choices, degree programs, financial aid, and talk to deaf and hard- of-hearing professionals.

"RIT/NTID helps deaf and hard-of-hearing students succeed in a variety of ways," said Robert Borden, NTID's director of enrollment management. "We've helped thousands of students graduate with associate, bachelor's or master's degrees."

RIT/NTID provides support services throughout the entire RIT campus where 1,100 deaf and hard of hearing students study alongside some 14,000 hearing students.

NTID was established at RIT to enhance career opportunities for deaf and hard-of-hearing people. Over the past 33 years, thousands of highly qualified deaf graduates have entered professions that previously had not been open to them.
