NE Conference on Early Intervention for Children with Cochlear Implants

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Cochlear Americas is pleased to announce the first Northeast Conference on Early Intervention for Children with Cochlear Implants.

Please reserve the dates for this special conference.

This conference is for professionals who will work in children with cochlear implants in early intervention programs. It will give them a good understanding of how cochlear implants work, Early Intervention education models and materials, auditory habilitation techniques, etc.

Topic: Northeast Conference on Early Intervention for Children with Cochlear Implants

Dates: Friday, May 21st (8.00-5.30pm) and Saturday, May 22nd (8.00-12noon) (THIS YEAR)

Location: Stokes Auditorium, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), 3405 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Audience: Early Intervention Specialists, Teachers of the Deaf, Speech and Language Pathologists, Case Managers/Administrators, Special Education Teachers, Auditory-Verbal Therapists, others.

Registration: Limited to 300. Registration forms will be mailed out by mid-March.

Northeast Region: Connecticut,Delaware, New Hampshire , New Jersey, New York, Massachussetts, Maine, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont. Professionals from others states are also encouraged to attend.

Continuing Education Units: Act 48 (PA), CEUs statements - No ASHA credits

Hotel: Sheraton Hotel - University City - within walking distance of CHOP. $139 per room, single or double occupancy.

Cost: $90 per person. No student discounts. Registration includes handouts, two breakfasts, two breaks, one lunch and parking in the CHOP parking for two days.

g, Managing Amplification in Early Intervention programs
h. Family Panel - parents of young children in various programs in the Northeast.
