Delta Zeta holds fund raiser to benefit hearing impaired

From: The Triangle - USA - Feb 7, 2004

The Delta Zeta sorority will be selling paper hearts Feb. 9–13 as part of their "Hearts for Hearing" charity fund raiser. Proceeds will benefit the speech and hearing impaired.

This is the third year that Delta Zeta will be conducting the event. They made $400 last year, and hope to reach their goal of $1,000 this year.

A table will be set up in the Creese Student Center between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and another will be in the Handschumacher Dining Center between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the week long event.

The hearts will be used to decorate Creese during Valentine's Day week. Purchasing a heart also makes participants eligible to enter in a drawing for a DVD player and other prizes.

Delta Zeta supports several speech and hearing organizations, including the House Ear Institute, Gallaudet University in Washington D.C., and The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

Anyone is welcome to participate in the event by purchasing a heart for $1.
