Appeal on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police (Force wide)

From: Avon and Somerset Constabulary, UK - Feb 2, 2004

Devon and Cornwell Police are appealing for help to trace a vunerable missing person.

During the evening of Saturday 3rd January officers were called to the Barbican in Plymouth after receiving a report of a distressed man. They found a deaf young man who could only communicate with them by sign language. As he was still distressed he was taken to a place of safety where further signing revealed his details as Simon Bennett, 24 years old.

Simon got up for breakfast the following morning but has not been seen since.

All efforts so far have failed to confirm his identity or lead to his present whereabouts.

Simon is described as white, about 6'2" tall, of medium build, with short brown hair.

He had dark rimmed round glasses and a hearing aid in his left ear. He was wearing a brown leather jacket, denim jeans, black shoes, black woollen hat and scarf. He walks with a limp and his head tilts to the left-hand side.

Anyone who may know Simon, recognise the description or know of his present whereabouts is asked to contact Plymouth Police on 08452 777 444
