Theatre Development Fund has announced upcoming dates for Broadway performances that will be captioned and sign-language-interpreted for theatregoers who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The assisted performances are part of TDF's Theatre Access Project (TAP), billed as an "invitation to the performing arts for people with physical disabilities." TAP regularly serves theatregoers with mild to severe hearing loss through open-captioned and sign-language interpreted performances of Broadway and Off Broadway shows.

In addition, special discount tickets in the orchestra are set aside monthly for theatregoers who are deaf or hard of hearing, partially sighted, blind, require aisle seating for medical reasons, use wheelchairs or cannot climb stairs.

The upcoming signed or captioned shows include:

• Wicked (Gershwin Theatre) 2 PM March 3 (open captioned and sign language interpreted) and 2 PM March 10 (open captioned and sign language interpreted), 7 PM March 16 (sign language interpreted), 8 PM March 24 (open captioned).

• I Am My Own Wife (Lyceum Theatre), 2 PM March 6 (open captioned).

• The Lion King (New Amsterdam Theatre) 8 PM March 10 (open captioned).

• Never Gonna Dance (Broadhurst Theatre) 3 PM March 21 (open captioned).

• Thoroughly Modern Millie (Marquis Theatre) 2 PM March 24 (open captioned and sign language interpreted), 2 PM April 21 (open captioned and sign language interpreted).

• Drowning Crows (Biltmore Theatre) 2 PM March 27 (open captioned).

• Sly Fox (Barrymore Theatre) 2 PM April 10 (open captioned).

• Wonderful Town (Al Hirschfeld Theatre) 8 PM April 21 (open captioned) 8 PM April 28 (sign language interpreted).

Theatregoers with disabilities may join TAP's mailing list which includes ticket offers to open captioned and sign language interpreted performances, where the seat locations are in view of either the open caption box or sign language interpreters.

There is no fee to join TAP's mailing list. For more information, and to join TAP's mailing list contact TAP directly by email at tap@tdf.org; call (212) 221-1103 or TTY (212) 719-4537; or download an application at TDF's Web site at www.tdf.org/programs/tap.
