BRATTLEBORO -- The Arrows are flying high.

The Austine girls basketball team improved its season record to an impressive 6-1 on Thursday with a 54-28 victory over the Rhode Island School for the Deaf.

The Arrows were led on the day by the "thunder and lightning" duo of Jaclyn Feder-Piasek and Jennifer Harbart. Feder-Piasek had an unbelievable performance, grabbing a career-high 35 rebounds to go along with 24 points and 5 assists while Harbart was almost as impressive with a 22 point, 8 rebound and 5 steal effort of her own.

"I've been here since 1990, and no one has had more rebounds than Jaclyn did tonight," Arrows coach Pete Rausch said.

Audree Connelly also played well in the win, scoring 6 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

Austine used a 20-6 first-quarter advantage to get a quick leg up on Rhode Island, and then took a commanding 30-6 lead into halftime.

The Arrows' next game comes on Monday when they host Latham Bible at 5 p.m.
