Special children have a special day

Chandigarh, December 4: TODAY was a special day for the challenged students of the Vatika School for Deaf and Dumb when Shobha Verma, wife of UT Administrator, Justice O P Verma (retd) was with them on the occasion of World Disability Day.

Shobha Verma distributed prizes to the children. She also inaugurated the Home science workshop and the newly-constructed beauty parlour which would be run by the students.Meanwhile, the children were at their best when they presented a colourful cultural programme. Events, including painting, race and fancy-dress competitions were held. A poem-recitation contest was specially organised for the hearing-impaired children.
