WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel (R–NE) announced today that the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) awarded $78,471 to the Nebraska Department of Education to support the Nebraska Deaf-Blind Project for Children and Youth.

"Providing Nebraska with the resources to help children with disabilities is crucial. This funding will ensure that these children and their families receive the educational services needed to live healthy and productive lives," Hagel said.

The DOE award will help provide technical assistance, information, and training on early intervention and special education services to educators, agencies, and families statewide. The project’s goal is to improve outcomes for children and youth who are deaf-blind.
