Get loud to help the deaf

From: Melbourne Herald Sun, Australia - Jun 11, 2003

DIG out your worst Hawaiian shirt: Loud Shirt Day is back.

Look silly for a great cause.

Former footy champion Paul Salmon is again the ambassador for Loud Shirt Day, which is on this Friday.

The idea is to wear your loudest, most colourful shirt and make a gold coin donation.

Cash raised helps provide oral language education programs to get deaf children talking.

In Victoria, the money goes to three centres, including Taralye, the oral language centre for deaf children in Blackburn.

Look for coin collectors at major train stations, register at www.loudshirtday.com.au, or call Gill Baker on 9877 1300.
