Players Welcome Hearing -Impaired Kids

From: WLBT-TV, MS - May 30, 2003

Some special players hit the Smith-Wills baseball field Thursday.

More than 124 boys and girls who are hearing impaired got to spend the day at a baseball camp with the Jackson Senators.

Children from Magnolia Speech School came out to the ballpark for a day of fun. This is also a chance for them to improve their athletic skills and confidence.

Senators Right Fielder Eric Darjean said,"At times you ask them to do something simple. You're not sure if you got it across. And as soon as you give up they hit it or do exactly what you want them to do. A lot of it is encouraging them."

It was the 7th annual Magnolia Speech School Baseball Camp.
