Deaf-and-dumb woman raped

Grahamstown - A deaf-and-dumb woman was raped mid-morning on Saturday in her home near Fort Beaufort, near Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape, police said.

Captain Nomazini Nkombisa said the 55-year-old woman was raped when a man broke a window to gain entry to her room at Tinis near Fort Beaufort.

A 47-year-old man was later arrested and will appear in court on Monday in connection with a charge of rape.
