Fatal Fire at Home for the Deaf

Baltimore County fire officials say a hearing impaired man was killed and three others injured in fire at a group home for the deaf. The fire broke out early Thursday morning.
Sixty firefighters responded to the fire. The home for the deaf was equipped with working strobe lights connected to smoke alarms. One survivor was listed in critical condition at Northwest Hospital, and two others were reported in serious condition.
Fire investigators believe an accident in the kitchen of the basement apartment where the man lived caused the fire, but they are still investigating the exact cause.
