COUNSELING.

There is a program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals to become
certified substance abuse counselors via accredited distance Learning.

The Instructor, since 1999, of two 3 unit courses is deaf.

Dr. Frank Lala, author of "Counseling the Deaf Substance Abuser", works for
Distance Learning Center for Addiction Studies " DLCAS ".

A joint presentation of The Betty Ford Center and The Distance Learning,
LLC.

Dr. Frank Lala was a recipient of Gallaudet University's Laurent Clerc Award
for this work.
