Stepfather Arrested In Pregnant Woman's Murder

An arrest in the case of a deaf, pregnant mother found strangled the day after Christmas.

Police say the man who strangled 28-year-old Trishawn Fifer is her step-father.

44-year-old Dwayne Cortez Wilson was arrested for Fifer's murder on Friday afternoon at Randolph Air Force Base. He's a civilian employee there.

The murder took place the day after Christmas with Fifer's two children home at the time.

Police say the young girls helped with the investigation but officers haven't determined the motive.

"We believe he did commit the murder. Why exactly, that's something that they're going to try to piece together as they walk the case over to the D-A's office. Even if we don't have that, we feel that we have enough evidence to get him charged," says Gabe Trevino with the San Antonio Police Department.

Fifer was pregnant with her third child at the time of the murder.

Some people close to Fifer say that could have been a motive, but that has yet to be determined by police.

Meanwhile, Wilson is being questioned by detectives and will be charged with murder.
